Advanced Heroquest

Games Workshop's 1989 more advanced version of the Milton Bradley Heroquest game. It was initially intended to get as many expansions as the original game, but only one expansion was released, Terror In The Dark (1991). The miniatures also appeared in the 1991 Mighty Warriors intro game.

The box contained the Adventurers shown below, plus a handful of henchmen and and a hoard of Skaven. All the pieces in the box were plastic, but the painted versions on the box rear used metal pieces as the plastics weren't ready yet. Several of the metal prototypes escaped the Studio and show up on the collector's market.

GW released another metal version of the wizard as a free give-away with a UK issue of White Dwarf.
